How does one calculate the amount of batter to use in a non-standard, varying-size Layer Cake pans?
I just purchased different cake pans, in different sizes and shapes, and I'm not sure how full to fill each one to make the varying-size layer cakes.
Go to either Duncan Hines website or Wilton's. They have the correct amount of batter to use for the odd sized cake pans. Duncan Hines used to put that information on the inside of the boxes, but I haven't seen it lately.
