if the diameter of a circular muffin mold is 2x3 inches, does that mean the height is 2 inches or the width?
looking to make pastries but want a mold that's 3 or 4 inches wide. 2 inches would be too small and a height of 3 inches would be too high so just wanna make sure before i purchase.
They should have indicated what the measurements were. Technically speaking, it is supposed to be width first, then height. (as in a sheet of paper is said to be 8x10...they never say 10x8. Plywood is 4x8. Not everyone follows this rule though.
I have never seen a muffin which was taller that what it was wide. They would not have paper liners that size. I think in this case you can, assume, that the mold is 3 inches wide and 2 inches high.
This is a very good question though and you might want to give them a call.
