What can i use instead of a wire cooling rack when baking?
I'm in the middle of baking a big batch of cookies for a children's birthday party tomorrow and I've just realised I broke my wire cooling rack and I have no clue what to put the cookies on to cool down.
I've never owned a wire cooling rack in my life. I've worked in 4 restaurants that made their own cookies & they never had one either.
I just use a plate (or a fresh cookie sheet if making a large amount), put a paper towel on it & load it up with cookies. Alternate layers - don't set 1 cookie on top of another, set it on the "crossroads" of 3 other cookies.
