Do you need to grease rubber Cake Molds?
I have rubber cake molds for cupcakes and was wondering if I need to grease them or not.
I meant silicone! not rubber. Oops!
They are different shapes so I can't use/find paper liners for them.
All 3 are "dead" wrong, your refering to the silicone type of pans (rubber would melt in the oven) and they need no greasing, in fact you can damage them if you do, if you want to make cupcakes you can use the paper liners for indiviual use, I place mine in a tin foil pan for stability when putting them in and taking tem out of the oven, they tend to bow if you do not.
I have a full set of the ones seen on TV, I make meatloaf, cookies, cakes and other dishes and use no extra fat, that is why they were designed that way, to limit fats and easily clean up. Why spend the money on silicone bakeware and do what you would to and for non silicone items, it is a waste of time and money, those other people do not know what they are talking about, trust me I am a former chef, with 20+ yrs of Hotel and Restaurant background and was using them in the trade along with silicone parchament paper long before most of them were even able to cook, I just hate when bad advice or misinformation is spread acrossed these pages.
